“Happy Accident”

I was working on set for this startup company and the set space was completely white (walls, floors, everything). They turned on the lights and it rotated through the colors: red, green, blue, yellow, etc VERY QUICKLY. So what I discovered was that when I took a panorama across the entire space, each color highlighting the room in those split moments was captured in this photo all at once.

This is one of my favorite photos I’ve captured. It was December 25th and I was incredibly sick with the flu but I remember building up the strength to get up from the couch to take this shot right outside the door of our upstairs apartment. My parents grew up with little resources so access to photos was minimal and much of their history was never documented. Now that I am able to do that for them, I cherish every photo I take and keep their history alive.

This picture is one of my favorites because it reminds me of the Dr. Seuss midnight paintings which I find myself taking a lot of inspiration from in my photographs.

This photo was taken as part of a series in what I believed would be my last ever visit to my hometown. The tracks running away and making a turn into the unseen seemed fitting.

I love this photo dearly, not only is it my best friend! But also, first time learning studio lighting.

“Scenes at Lunch”

I took this photo on my last day in Denmark while having lunch. There was a window just right in front of me and I could see different scenes happening in each panel. Can you find them all?

On this particular day I was working on a shoot at a vintage estate. It had just rained and the sun was coming out, so all the roses were blooming with raindrops on them. It was just so beautiful.

I started shooting in my senior year of high school and quickly began to take it more seriously once I got to college. This photo was taken on 35mm black-and-white film using my Minolta point-and-shoot. It was shot on a whim during a solo day trip to Manhattan last year. I developed, scanned, and edited it myself while working in a photo lab before moving to LA. I have multiple favorite photos of mine, but this is definitely in the top ten. I love how the main subjects in the image all have similar stature. To me, this reflects the mundane nature of everyday life while we are constantly surrounded by advertisements/marketing campaigns

“Waves”

I took this photo when I was in the experimental development of my photography. For a class, I developed a series Journey’s End that followed the theme of love and heartbreak using film and double exposures. This was one of the first photos I was successful in utilizing double exposure.

“Ocean 1”

This is the only somewhat usable image from my very first landscape shoot attempt with my old medium format film camera some time ago. This image kickstarted my journey of shooting for my own photo book. It's my favorite image I've ever taken; it brings back so many memories and gives me motivation when I am lost.
